See and Learn Speech and Numbers - update

We are making good progress developing the first steps in the See and Learn Speech programme and have recently secured funding to support the creation of the initial steps in the See and Learn Numbers programme.

Work on developing the content and materials for the first 2 steps in the See and Learn Speech programme is now well underway. These initial steps will provide resources and activities to help children learn the sounds used in speech and start blending these sounds together. We expect to publish these steps later in Spring - we will announce expected publication dates shortly. This work has been funded by a grant from the Freemasons' Grand Charity.

We have also been successful in securing a grant from the Big Lottery Fund to support the creation of the first 2 steps in the See and Learn Numbers programme - these steps will help children learn about first concepts (such as colour, shape, size), the words used in counting and early counting skills. These steps will be developed during 2011.
