See and Learn More Word Pictures - Guide to the  activities

Activities

See and Learn More Word Pictures consists of the three activities:

Progressing through the activities

See and Learn More Word Pictures helps your child learn more words using the same sequence of matching, selecting and naming activities as See and Learn First Word Pictures.

The vocabulary-building activities begin with Matching More Word Pictures, which uses picture matching games to introduce the new words. The new words are listed in sets of four words on the Matching More Word Pictures record sheet - start the activity with the first set of four words.

When your child has completed the matching activities with the first set of four words, he/she is ready to move on to Selecting More Word Pictures with that set of words. At the same time, you also need to continue the Matching More Word Pictures with the other sets of words until your child has matched all the pictures successfully. Each time your child matches a set of four words, you can start using those words in the Selecting More Word Pictures activity.

When your child shows understanding of individual words in Selecting More Word Pictures he/she can start using these words in the final activity Naming More Word Pictures. Again, you should continue the Selecting More Word Pictures activity with the remaining sets of words - each time you complete the activity with a set of words you can start using those words in the final naming activity Naming More Word Pictures.

Your child is therefore likely to be completing more than one activity at the same time, using different sets of words in different activities.

This pack is designed to be completed at the same time as See and Learn First Written Words which will help your child learn to read written words and phrases. When your child has completed both of these packs, you will be ready to move on to the next stage of See and Learn, which includes See and Learn First Sentences and See and Learn More Sentences.
