See and Learn Memory
See and Learn Memory
will be a visually-based set of teaching resources that will help children with
Down syndrome develop their memory skills.
About See and Learn Memory
Children with Down syndrome experience specific memory delays, with verbal and working
memory skills being more delayed than non-verbal mental abilities.
See and Learn Memory will provide guidance and resources to support activities
to improve visual and verbal short-term memory and working memory skills. Short-term
and working memory skills influence children's ability to learn language, to think
and reason, and to learn reading and maths. Research has shown that these memory
skills can be improved for children with Down syndrome with regular practice through
games and activities.
Free to use
See and Learn Memory will be provided free of charge online by
Down Syndrome Education International. Anyone will be able to download and
use the program without charge.
