See and Learn currently includes 3 steps to introduce early language -
from first words to simple phrases.
(Further steps to introduce further vocabulary and more complex grammar
are under development)
See and Learn First Word Pictures
is designed for children who are at the first stage of learning
language. This step supports young learners to develop and understanding
of 60 common first words. This step also prepares children for learning
to read by developing their visual skills through picture matching
activities.
See and Learn First Written Words
teaches reading of 16 words (previously introduced in See and Learn
First Word Pictures). When children have a vocabulary of more than
50 words, they begin to combine words together. Reading is used to
support the understanding and use of two-word combinations.
See and Learn More Word Pictures
pack introduces 56 more words that are also common in children’s early
vocabularies. This pack is designed to be used at the same time as see
and learn – my first reading.
See and Learn First Sentences
See and Learn First Sentences teaches reading of a further 16
words, taken from see and learn – more words. Reading is used to support
the understanding and use of simple sentences, containing 3 ‘content’
words.
